New Business Spotlight: MELT Auburn

MELT Auburn

Things have gotten cheesy on the corner of Samford Avenue and Samford Trace Court. MELT Auburn officially opened last month. The new restaurant has been “slinging cheese” ever since, offering The Plains a bit of comfort with a twist!

About MELT Auburn

Established in Birmingham in 2011, MELT started as a food truck and oozed into a storefront in Avondale. Since then, the concept has expanded to include four locations. There are two in Birmingham, one in Huntsville and now Auburn.

MELT Auburn celebrated its soft opening on May 15—and it’s clear along with serving signature comfort food, it’s all about a comfortable space. With indoor and outdoor seating, there are two large covered patios with fans, tables and chairs—and the back patio has cornhole!

What’s more, the star of the menu is anything with cheese with a soft spot for a classic grilled cheese. But then there is that twist.

The menu

The menu at MELT Auburn has everything from mac-and-cheese stuffed eggrolls and honey-baked goat cheese to a Reuben and the “Mac Melt.” Are you now wondering what the “Mac Melt” is? Get ready to want MELT’s homemade in-house mac-and-cheese in a grilled cheese on Texas toast.

Auburn’s menu also features a recent addition, the “Rock-a-Doodle.” This fried chicken breast sandwich comes stacked with bacon, pepper jack, cheddar cheese and slaw, served on Texas toast.

There are also refreshing drinks, including sweet tea, craft beer and specialty craft cocktails. And for dessert, who can resist fried Oreos or vanilla and chocolate ice cream? Before you go, check out MELT Auburn’s menu.

MELT Auburn is hard to miss! Find this new business on The Plains at 1800 Samford Trace Court, Suite 240. To clarify, it’s across from Auburn High School. Find MELT Auburn on Facebook or Instagram for more local cheesiness.
