In the News
According to al.com, the state recently announced the construction of a $120 million new data center in Auburn on Samford Avenue just outside of campus. An Auburn businessman has founded AUBix, which will operate out of the 40,000-square-foot facility.
One main goal is to provide high-speed internet access to rural businesses and communities. Another goal includes offering businesses secure, compliant IT storage and infrastructure.
Did we mention AUBix will also give local residents more choices when it comes to internet service providers? Plus, space will also be utilized for research and academic projects.
The new data center in Auburn has a self-described approach that is “reimagined.” The high-tech company has created a network of technology partners that have helped build efficient and responsive hybrid cloud solutions, among other things.
Additionally, the company focuses on “global connectivity.” It plans to work primarily with underserved areas by providing high-speed, secure and compliant digital connections. This will help rural, small businesses compete in the worldwide marketplace.
Yet another high-tech feature will be the facility itself! In the end, the space will be large enough to power, cool, store and more when it comes to all aspects of IT management.
