Buc-ee’s isn’t just a place to refuel for your next trip. It’s a destination in and of itself! And now, we’re officially one step closer to its grand opening in “The Loveliest Village on the Plains.” Keep reading to learn all about the recent groundbreaking of Buc-ee’s in Auburn, which will be located just off Interstate 85’s exit 50.
The progress so far
In summer 2021, the announcement of an Auburn Buc-ee’s made big waves. Now, there’s an update to the story, thanks to the recent groundbreaking of Buc-ee’s in Auburn. It took place on October 27, with a few notable guests.
Not only was Auburn Mayor Ron Anders, in attendance, but so was Buc-ee’s co-owner Arch “Beaver” Aplin. And of course, we can’t forget the guest of honor: the Buc-ee’s beaver mascot!
Opening date
It’ll take a bit of time to construct the 53,000 square-foot Auburn Buc-ee’s. After all, they need room for all those snacks, souvenirs, and fuel!
At the moment, the opening date is pegged for late 2022. When you go, don’t forget to pick out some Beaver Nuggets! That’s their signature corn puff treat.
A big boost to our economy
More than 170 new long-term jobs. Tax dollars. Payment for construction and materials. Auburn will enjoy a big economic boost—and we can thank Buc-ee’s for that. The chain is expected to invest about $45 million into our town!
The company also plans to give back locally too. They’ve decided to give away $50,000 to non-profits in town. What a great first impression!
